How
to Store Important Documents
Important documents are easy to lose
but difficult to replace – there’s
nothing worse than rummaging around for a passport, immunization
certificate or insurance document in a panic. Keep stress to
a minimum by gathering all the important documents for each member
of your household and keeping them in one spot. To store them,
start with a dedicated, portable filing device such as a file-tote
or an accordion file. Create a section for each person in your
family – preferably colour coded for at-a-glance access.
Next, subdivide each person’s files into titled sections
such as “Medical” (immunization records), “I.D.” (passport,
birth certificate) or “Education” (graduation certificates,
report cards). Now your important documents are not only easy
to find, they’re easy to put away!
