How
to Preserve your Child’s “School Memories”
Children’s artwork and school projects are important milestones
of their achievements but collections can quickly spiral out
of control. To keep them in check select a durable banker’s
box or a hard plastic portable file tote for each child, along
with a set of hanging files. Label each hanging file according
to the school year keeping the current one at the front. When
your child brings home artwork, stories and pictures simply place
them in the relevant file folder. At the end of the year, go
over the file with your child, and pick out just the most special
and memorable items. The rest can be thrown out guilt-free as
you’ll have a good sampling of the year’s accomplishments.
If you still find it difficult to pare down, take photos of any
items that are too bulky to keep and slip them into this year’s
file folder which can now be archived at the back of the box.
