Using Food Storage Containers
Dry foods that are stored in the original packaging and tied
off with a twist tie go stale quickly. Transferring dry foods
to storage containers is an easy way to keep food fresh and
condense multiple packages of the same item. Foodstuffs like
rice, pasta, cereal and marshmallows can all be stored in containers
and will help keep your pantry in order.
When buying containers, choose clear plastic and square or
rectangular shapes. Clear containers will allow you to know
when you’re low on items and prevent you from overstocking.
Keep in mind that square and rectangular containers are easier
to stack than round ones and will help maximize space in your
cupboards.
