How to Create a "Warranty Folder"

Warranty cards come with almost every major purchase, but people only look for them when something is damaged or breaks down. That can often be years after the original purchase so you need a filing system with fast, easy access such as a portable accordion folder.

• Organize the folder using categories such as: toys, electronics, major appliances, tools rather than date of purchase which are difficult to remember.
  
• Staple the original receipt to the warranty to keep everything together.
  
• Each time you add an item do a quick check of what’s in the folder and toss or shred anything to which the warranty has expired.
