How
to Store Loose Photos
Ordinary cardboard boxes typically contain
chemicals that can damage your photographs. Cramming them into
tight containers
or leaving them loose in oversized boxes can cause wrinkles and
bends. To preserve and organize your photos, specialized “photo
boxes” are the way to go. Find them at your local craft
or photography store.
- Use topic index
cards to organize loose photos within each box by topic,
for example: pets,
vacation, celebrations, family, friends…or chronologically
i.e. spring 2004, Christmas 2006.
Special
Note: avoid storing loose photos in the basement;
it’s usually too damp.
